The Kidderminster Formation is from the Early Triassic time, which lies just after the end of Permian mass extinction of life on Earth. From fossil evidence the creatures shown above may well have been living in the area of the Voyage around the time all the pebbles of the Kidderminster Formation were being carried by vast flowing water.

The Helsby Sandstone mentioned in the diagram above, is from around the same time, or slightly younger, than the Kidderminster Formation. Therefore, the fossils found in one probably reflect lifeforms for the other.
